분홍신 The Red Shoes

극단 감독 보리스는 언제나 작품을 흥행에 성공시킨다.
그에게는 조카 비키가 있는데 그녀가 아마추어라는 이유로 만나려 하지 않는다.
막상 그녀를 보게 된 보리스는 아름다운 비키에게 빠져들게 된다.
한편, 줄리앙이라는 청년이 그를 찾아와 “불타는 가슴”은 교수가 자신의 작품을 훔쳐 만든 것이라며 주장한다.
그의 재능을 인정한 보리스는 그에게 일을 맡기게 되고 “분홍신”을 각색한 작품의 음악을 그에게 맡긴다.
수석 발레리나가 결혼 때문에 떠나 가게 되어 비키가 “분홍신”의 주인공이 된다. 줄리앙과 비키는 자연스럽게 사랑에 빠지게 되고 발레공연은 성공리에 끝난다.
그러나 보리스는 질투때문에 비키에게 줄리앙은 그녀가 훌륭한 무용수가 되는데 도움이 되지 않는다는 경고를 한다.
